Junior Network Engineer

What you do

Network Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a network and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. 

Junior Network Engineers will work in-house/remote or be assigned to project management teams. As part of the Core Network team, Network Engineers work closely with Network Architects and IT Managers. 

What you bring to the team

• Understanding of OSI model. 
• Basic knowledge about network (STP, MAC, Switching, IP, Subnetting, Routing). 
• Understanding how Network Firewall works.  
• University or college degree in Computer Science, Networking or Telecommunications or equivalent working experience (could be last year university student). 
• Good knowledge of English. 
• Bonus points: 
  • CCNA Certification. 
  • Experience with Fortinet products.  
  • Hands-on experience with HP and Cisco switches, routers and NetScaler Load balancers.

• Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.

• Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting. 
• Arranging scheduled upgrades. 
• Investigating faults in the network. 
• Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases. 
• Reporting network status to key stakeholders.

The salary for this position starts from €1700 to €2800 gross per month, depending on the knowledge and experience.
