Already working as a Senior Microsoft SQL Administrator?

As Senior MS SQL DBA within DBS Operations OS & DB you work in the MS SQL Server Department in a team. The team works systematically and combines regular SQL Server management with larger projects. You spend time managing and monitoring a large number of databases for multiple customers. In addition, you perform installations, optimizations, consolidations and migrations, both on premise (DC) and on Public Cloud environments. 

 


In addition to DB administration skills, you are also capable of analyzing, designing, advising and estimating the effort required for changes. The work is not just limited to daily operations, regular updates and migrations but also involves creating new environments for internal and external customers of Centric.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other database administration tools.
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator, with a demonstrated progression in responsibilities and expertise.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in database design, development, and implementation.
  • Experience with backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong SQL scripting skills for writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell for automating database tasks and maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Effective communication skills, as senior DBAs often collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals.
  • Certifications. Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Data Management and Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server instances.
  • Apply service packs, cumulative updates, and security patches.
  • Collaborate with application developers and system architects to design and plan new database systems.
  • Optimize database schema and data structures for performance and scalability.
  • Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database configurations for improved performance.
  • Configure and maintain database indexing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation routines for routine database tasks and maintenance.
  • Investigate and resolve database-related issues and errors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure smooth database operations.

The salary for this position starts from €3800 to €5200 gross per month, depending on the knowledge and experience.
