Senior Data Engineer

What you do

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (5–8 years) who combines strong hands-on data engineering skills with a consulting and client-facing mindset. In this role, you will work directly with clients to design, build, and evolve modern data platforms that deliver measurable business value.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end data lifecycle — from discovery and architecture to implementation and optimization — while acting as a trusted technical partner for client teams.

A summary of your responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate scalable data platforms in hybrid cloud environments, supporting batch and real-time use cases.
• Develop and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and modern orchestration tools within a Microsoft-first ecosystem.
• Lead technical discovery and design sessions with clients: gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and translate business needs into sustainable data solutions.
• Implement data quality, governance, and lineage practices to ensure trustworthy and compliant data.
• Design and optimize data models (DWH, semantic layers) and ensure efficient data storage and query performance.
• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers, clearly explaining architectural decisions and trade-offs.

What you bring to the team

• 5–8 years of experience in data engineering roles, with ownership of production-grade data solutions.
• Experience in client-facing or consulting environments.
• Excellent SQL skills and solid understanding of data modeling concepts.
• Practical experience with Microsoft data platforms (Azure, MS Fabric, ADF, SQL Server); experience with other clouds is a plus.
• Good understanding of data governance, quality, and lineage principles.
• Strong communication skills — able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

The salary for this position is €4500 to €5000 gross per month. We are open to discuss the salary depending on your knowledge and experience.
