Student Programs
Centric Scholarship Fund
The Centric Scholarship Fund helps students in need who have potential, but need that extra boost to make the most of their gifts. Through the fund we help motivated students who care about their education attend high school in Iasi, not only by offering financial help, but also guidance. Our colleagues mentor the students, supporting them and guiding them both personally and professionally during the 10 months of the program. The Centric Scholarship Fund is a joint initiative between Centric and Fundația Comunitara Iași. It is the first program run by a company in Iasi that involves setting up a scholarship fund, while also focusing on the personal development and psycho-social health of the students.
University Partnerships
As part of our efforts to give back, while also helping create a stronger IT community, we have partnered with universities in Iasi and collaborated on various projects.
Our colleagues share their time, efforts, and expertise with students and other people interested in IT during our various programs. Centric also completely renovated a laboratory at The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science, and contributed to the renovation of one of the amphitheaters at The Faculty of Computer Science. Colleagues interested in research have provided equipment, resources, and their expertise to various university projects.
Centric Express
Centric Express is Centric's program intended especially for university students from computer science faculties, interested in improving their technical and soft skills. It is focused on raising awareness of IT in general, as well as the specific disciplines, technologies, and development methodologies used at Centric. The program runs for several weekends and includes presentations and workshops about the areas of expertise in Centric: Software Development, Software Testing, and UI/UX Design. Every Saturday, participants stop at a competence "train station" where they learn things like OOP, .NET, Java, UI/UX and Front end, Quality Assurance, XR, Cybersecurity, Databases, Infrastructure, and Serverless.
Internship Program
The internship program at Centric is designed for students who want to practice the theoretical knowledge they have acquired at university in a company setting. We want to support young IT professionals in developing their skills under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.
During the summer, from July to September, teams of university students from Iasi develop projects under the mentorship of our experienced colleagues. During the program, they have to put their .NET, Testing and UI/ UX skills to good use. After the internship ends, they have the opportunity to become part of the Centric team as an employee.
Summer Practice
Summer Practice is Centric's series of workshops designed for university students and recognized by the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science as summer practice. The purpose is to help students gather hands-on experience in .NET technologies. During 4 weeks in June and July, our colleagues mentor and coordinate 4 teams of 5 students as each team develops a web application. At the end of the sessions, the projects are evaluated according to specific criteria and the team with the best web app is awarded a special prize.
